Amari

Founder

Biography

Amari is the Founder of Project Amity, where she leads the organization’s work addressing social isolation through meaningful, community-based connection. Since founding Project Amity alongside her brother, Kevin, in 2020, she has helped guide its growth from a student-led initiative into a community organization focused on reducing loneliness through volunteer engagement, creative outreach, and intergenerational connection.

Before founding Project Amity, Amari served as a Peer Support Facilitator at RPlaces Transition Centre, where she supported individuals navigating challenges related to mental health, addiction, and anger management. Her broader work in healthcare and clinical research continues to inform her understanding of loneliness as more than an emotional experience, but as something deeply connected to health, dignity, and access to support.

Amari’s creative background in writing and the arts continues to shape the way she approaches this work. Whether through colourful letters, drawings, or small acts of care created by volunteers, she believes creativity can become a meaningful bridge between people who may never meet, but can still help someone feel seen and remembered.
